We really encourage clients to seek the help of an experienced CIC when performing the upgrade from time mattes 9 to time matters 10.  Especially, if you are coming from time matters professional and coming to time matters 10 which is now all on the enterprise or SQL platform. Your professional database must be 100% free of errors before the transition or your Time Matters 10 will not run properly.

Another quick note Time Matters 10 minimum requirements now drops support for SQL 2000.  You must be using SQL 2005 or SQL 2008.  The “Express” or free versions are fine as long as your database fits comfortably below 4GB which most firms with 20 or less people will not have a problem doing.

Time Matters on 64 Bit Server 2008

Just a quick note today.  We are being asked all the time about Time Matters on the newer platforms of 64bit or Server 2008 or SBS 2008.

First off Small Business Server 2008 premium is a license steal.  If your organization is looking to make an upgrade or cycle old hardware SBS 2008 for your company/TM deployment for companies from 2-40 is an excellent choice.  SBS 2008 premium comes with this license buffet: (more…)
